Emily Berkowitz joined AISP as a Policy Fellow following her time here as an MSW Intern during the 2018-2019 academic year. She is also an MS in Social Policy student at the University of Pennsylvania. For AISP, Emily supports communication strategies that broaden stakeholder interest in and awareness of integrated data system use for policy and practice. She is committed to applying intersectional theory and equity in her work.
Previously, Emily performed policy analysis at the Philadelphia Mayor’s Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity, and worked as a community educator for a domestic violence agency in Poughkeepsie, NY where she co-authored “Intimate Partner Violence and Barriers to Seeking Healthcare” with Dr. Maria E. Melilli. Emily earned her MSW from the University of Pennsylvania and her BA in Human Rights from Bard College. She lives in West Philadelphia with her darling cat Eleanor Roosevelt.
